Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Streams mobile apps, websites (including streamsapp.io), and related services (the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

1. The Services

Streams is a social product organized around topic-based feeds you join ("Streams"). Features may include posts, stories, reactions, comments, profiles, search/discovery, notifications, and direct messages. Features can change over time.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Streams.
• If you use Streams on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.

3. Accounts and security

You sign in with a phone number and one-time codes. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your phone number secure. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised: support@streamsapp.io.

We may refuse registration, reclaim usernames, or reclaim inactive handles when needed to prevent abuse or confusion.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you create and share on Streams ("User Content"). By posting or sending User Content, you grant Streams a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display that content solely to operate, improve, and promote the Services (for example showing your post in a Stream feed, delivering a DM, or generating Stream/topic suggestions).

You represent that you have the rights needed to share your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.

You can delete certain content in-product. Account deletion removes associated content from primary systems as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to backups, legal holds, and residual copies that may take time to clear.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse others; or post illegal or exploitative content. Child sexual abuse material and child sexual abuse and exploitation are banned outright (see Section 6 and our CSAE Policy).
• Impersonate others, misrepresent your identity, or evade bans.
• Spam, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Services; or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Upload malware or use Streams to distribute scams, phishing, or fraud.
• Violate intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others.
• Use automated means to create accounts, interact, or extract data without our written permission.

We may remove content, limit features, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for users or Streams.

6. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

You may not create, upload, share, request, or store child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or engage in child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on Streams. That includes sexual content involving anyone 17 or under, content that sexualizes a minor, and grooming or solicitation of a minor, in posts, stories, comments, profiles, or messages.

We will remove this material when we become aware of it, may suspend or terminate the accounts involved, and will cooperate with law enforcement and child-protection authorities as required by law. How to report, and what we do next, is in our CSAE Policy. Report in-app or email safety@streamsapp.io.

7. Reporting and moderation

Streams includes reporting, blocking, and related safety tools. We may review reports and take action we believe is appropriate. We do not promise to take a specific action on every report, and moderation decisions may reverse if new information appears. CSAE reports are treated as a priority under Section 6.

8. Availability and changes

Streams is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Features may be incomplete, change, or be withdrawn. If you previously joined a waitlist, that signup does not create a separate right to access beyond what the public app provides.

9. Intellectual property

The Streams name, logo, product design, and software are owned by Streams or its licensors. Except for the limited license to use the Services, these Terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or code.

10. Third-party services

The Services rely on third parties (for example SMS delivery, media hosting, and classification providers). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their processing. Streams is not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STREAMS DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that content will always be available or accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STREAMS AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

13. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Streams against claims, damages, and expenses arising from your User Content or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Termination

You may stop using Streams and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Sections that by nature should survive (including licenses already exercised, disclaimers, and limitations) will survive termination.

15. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes, except where local law requires a different process.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Streams operates its primary business entity, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.
